Overcoming Self-Doubt and Finding Positivity in Nursing with Donna Cardillo, The Inspiration Nurse

In this episode, Adrianne welcomes Donna Cardillo, the Inspiration Nurse! With over 25 years of clinical, managerial, and business experience, Donna is a positive force of nature who lights a path for others to follow. Donna is the author of four books including the award-winning Falling Together: How to Find Balance, Joy, and Meaningful Change When Your Life Seems to be Falling Apart, and Your First Year as a Nurse: Making the Transition from Total Novice to Successful Professional.

“There is not have ever been one day that I have ever regretted my choice or not learned something new or didn't know that I was making an enormous difference in the world. So nursing is a big, wide world and I have taken advantage of all of that, and I'm sure there's still more out there as well.”

Topics they discuss include:

  • Donna's journey from bedside nurse to entrepreneur to author and keynote speaker

  • The importance of personal growth and overcoming self-doubt in achieving success

  • What is a labyrinth, what is it for, and where can I find one near me?

  • Suggestions for nurses struggling to find positivity in their personal and professional lives.

  • The vast career opportunities for nurses and why nurses should explore their talents and interests.

Donna on labyrinths:

“You might ask a question, set an intention. Maybe you know how you want the experience to be and you begin to slowly walk on the path that is in front of you until you get to the center. And because the because the labyrinth, it's not concentric circles. The path may wind in different directions, but it's still all ultimately going to the same place.

So you really. You don't always know whether, how close you are to the center or to the beginning, which more forces you to kind of just focus on one step in front of the other to be very mindful and to focus on what you're doing.”

Don’t just listen to this episode, bookmark it, download it, whatever, because this information is valuable and you’ll want it later.

Thank you so much to Donna for being such an excellent guest and a dedicated advocate for nurses everywhere.
