In this episode, Adrianne welcomes special guest Isla, a General Practice nurse from Scotland. Isla and Adrianne met through Instagram and this interview is their first time speaking - you’d never know since they talk like old friends. Isla shares some of the nuances of nursing in the UK that differ from the States, how she became a nurse, and what her job is like. Most importantly, they talk about the biggest challenge they share.

Isla, like Adrianne, is a migraine sufferer. Adrianne welcomes Isla to share her long and intense experiences dealing with this chronic condition and how it has affected her personally and professionally.

In addition to their personal migraine experiences they discuss:

-How nursing school is structured in the UK

-The historical impact of a nurse with a hole in her skull

-How many nurses feel when they sign off sick vs working sick

-Some facts and statistics about nurses and migraine

-Higher migraine risk in healthcare professionals than in the general population

   - Quality of Life and Productivity in Nurses Reporting Migraine

...and more.

Thanks again to Isla for joining Adrianne and for being so open about her history with migraines.
