Special Note from Adrianne
March 25, 2024
You guys……it’s season 10. Can you believe it?
Now, if you're an OG listener, welcome back, my fellow bedside buddies! And if you're new here, welcome and hold on tight. I'm Adrianne, an eight-year veteran in the nursing trenches, your resident truth-teller, and the fearless solo producer of this show for the past seven years. Yep, you heard that right – seven years of talking to tons of nurses, some doctors, students, and a bunch of other awesome people in the healthcare universe.
Now, you might be wondering where I've been. Well, y’all, I took a little hiatus – a nurse's gotta refill that cup and sometimes it takes a while? I'm back, and I've got a stethoscope full of fresh, exciting content just for you.
This season, we're shining the spotlight on some of the most intriguing nurses out there. These are the unsung heroes with stories that will leave you inspired, amazed, and maybe a little bit incredulous. We're also diving headfirst into those topics that might be whispered in the break room but rarely spoken about openly in the nursing community.
Get ready for conversations that peel back the layers of our profession – the good, the challenging, and the downright absurd.
We're not holding anything back because here at Nursing Uncensored, we believe in keeping it real.
So, whether you're a seasoned nurse, a nursing student, or just nursing a curiosity about the world of scrubs and stethoscopes, this is your space. Let's laugh together, learn together, and, most importantly, let's lift each other up.I'm thrilled to have you along for the ride, and I promise, this season is going to be like nothing you've heard before. Welcome to Nursing Uncensored – where the scrubs are real, the stories are uncensored, and the laughter is the best medicine.

Dan DiMonte: The Kitchen Table Sessions @ NUHQ: Pt 2
In this episode, we get back to my conversation with Dan DiMonte, travel-nurse-turned-per-diem-nurse, about loads of things. We topic-hop and touch on Dan's desire for roots, staffing ratios and union issues, premium healthcare, and poisoning the well during patient report.
Dan DiMonte: The Kitchen Table Sessions @ NUHQ: Pt 1
An old pal of the show, nurse and touring multi-instrumentalist Dan DiMonte stepped into the Nursing Uncensored Headquarters for a little kitchen-table-chat and a cocktail or two. In this very long, late-night conversation, we covered so much - too much for one episode.
A Travel Nurse & Her Adventure Muppet: Pt 2
This week we dive back into Adrianne’s marathon call with her good friend and travel nurse Lindsay Dingbaum. Since they can get their gab on like pros, they covered a LOT of information like...
-The multifaceted nature of a nurse's emotions
-Advice for new travelers
-Narcotics and end-of-life-care: a nurse's discomfort
-Dealing with undesirable assignments
-Getting used to a new place as a traveler
-Designer scrubs (yes, they go there again)
...and a million other little things on their minds.
A Travel Nurse & Her Adventure Muppet: Part 1
This week you're dropping in on the conversation Adrianne had with her old pal Lindsay, a traveling nurse and cool human that she can literally talk to for hours and hours on end. They cover many topics in this episode including how Lindsay caught the travel bug, weighing the pros and cons of different contracts and locations, her adventure dog, licensing for travelers, and getting tricked into wiping butts of patients who really can do it themselves.

Hospitality for Traveling Nurses
Adrianne has some thoughts on how a staff nurse should treat a float or a traveling nurse - very specific thoughts. She shares some opinions of how we as staff nurses should be treating our travelers and floating nurses from the moment they arrive on the unit.
TravCon Pt. 2: Sick Nurses, Natural Talents and Knowing Boundaries
they left off, addressing the cliff-hanger from episode 10. They also talk about nurses who are ill, finding natural talents and knowing boundaries. Adrianne may or may not have almost been struck by a train at some point during this recording.
TravCon, Germs, and Tangents: Pt. 1
It wouldn't be an episode of Nursing Uncensored if we didn't do the jitterbug in and out of a ton of random, unrelated topics. Stick around for all of this epic convo - and don't worry - we edited out all Andrew's coughs and maybe a couple of cough-farts - you'll never know for sure.
